Incidentally, the fourth generation Prius was the first to be built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) modular platform. As a result, the Prius’s chassis became 60 percent stronger, lighter, and allowed for a lower center of gravity. A combination of the 1.8 liter gasoline engine (98 hp and 142 Nm) and electric motor (72 hp and 163 Nm) totally produces up to 150 “horses” of capacity and consumes fuel by 10 percent less than before.
