The new Toyota Hilux was presented simultaneously in Australia and Thailand. The new model has several modifications – with single, double and one and a half cabs. The length of the “medium” Double Cap version is 5335 mm (+74 mm compared to the predecessor), the width is 1855 mm (+20 mm), and the height and wheelbase size remain the same at 1820 mm and 3085 mm, respectively.

The model has changed externally and has undergone a major technical revision. In addition, a pair of new diesel engines have been added to the engine range, which will be mated to six-speed transmissions.

The frame design of the new Hilux has changed – the spars now have a larger cross-section and thickness, as well as an increase in the number of welding points and the proportion of high-strength steel. The car’s suspension was developed and tuned by specialists from the brand’s Australian division, who prepared three variants of the chassis with different elasticity settings: the average Standard for all roads, Heavy Duty for heavy loads and Comfort for frequent driving on ordinary asphalt roads.

The engine range of the new model includes a new 1GD 2.8 turbo-four diesel engine with 177 hp and 450 Nm of peak torque. This engine replaces the previous 3.0-litre 1KD diesel engine. The new unit is paired with a six-speed automatic (instead of the previous generation’s five-speed). The drive is all-wheel drive.

Toyota Hilux is a legendary pickup truck. In USA, the Hilux can be ordered in three versions, for which two turbocharged four-cylinder 16-valve diesel engines with a high-pressure system with direct fuel injection (Common Rail) with a volume of 2.5 and 3.0 litres are offered. These engines are capable of developing a maximum power of 144 and 171 hp respectively. The car is equipped with a plug-in all-wheel drive. The 2.5-litre model is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, while the 3.0-litre model is equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Toyota Hilux stands out for its masculine body design with the well-known features of Toyota SUVs. Inside, the Toyota Hilux pleasantly surprises with a stylish and functional interior, which in terms of convenience and design creates a feeling of comfort, as if you were in a passenger car.
