It is a hybrid crossover with impressive dimensions. As for the power plant, it does not undergo changes compared to the previous model. All the same the car is equipped with a gasoline engine, the volume of which is 2.5 liters.

But it will be helped by two electric motors (MG1 and MG2), which are installed on the rear axle. The total hybrid output will be 243 horsepower. The principle of work of rear electric motor will consist in its activation, at the loss of clutch to the front wheels. This provides additional traction. Four types of driving will be available.

Also a new “chip” will be recuperation of braking energy, which allows you to save battery power. Highlander Hybrid will be much more economical, in terms of fuel consumption, compared with the non-hybrid version. As for safety, the car has received the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, this is the highest rating from the organization.
