Back row passengers have their own air deflectors regardless of the configuration, but the armrest with two cupholders is only for expensive versions. The backrests of the rear sofa can be folded down in the proportion 60:40, creating an even loading area with the luggage compartment shelf. When camping, trunk capacity ranges from 688 liters in the all-wheel-drive version to 722 liters in the mono-drive version (according to the EPA, North American version of the Corolla Cross).

The 2021 Toyota Corolla Сross crossover is available in different markets with different powertrains. In the U.S., the vehicle comes exclusively with a 2.0-liter atmospheric motor (171 hp, 203 Nm) paired with a Direct Shift CVT (has a physical first gear). The Corolla Cross is available here with both front-wheel drive (in which case it comes with a torsion bar behind), and all-wheel drive (multilever rear suspension).

In other markets the powertrains are different. For example, in Thailand the crossover is completed with a 1.8-liter atmospheric engine. In its atmospheric version it produces 140 hp and 177 Nm, and paired with an electric motor with 72 hp and 163 Nm is downgraded to 98 hp and 142 Nm. Total output of the hybrid makes 122 hp.

As for safety, on the North American market Toyota Corolla Cross comes with nine airbags and Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 package by default. This package includes dynamic cruise control, lane-keeping system, pedestrian detection system with automatic braking, automatic high beam activation and traffic sign reading system. Higher-priced versions are also equipped with blind-spot monitoring sensors and a reversing warning system.
