In November 2017, a front-wheel drive hybrid version was added to the C-HR range in the UK market in three equipment levels. The Hybrid version is equipped with a powerplant based on the 1.8-litre 2ZR-FXE atmospheric engine and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The ICE develops up to 98 hp and 142 Nm, and the total system capacity, including the electric motor, reaches 122 litres. The Toyota C-HR takes 11 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. Petrol consumption in the combined cycle is 4.0 l/100 km.

In the Euro NCAP crash tests, the 2017 Toyota C-HR crossover received the highest rating of five stars. The C-HR received 95% of the possible points for driver and adult passenger protection, 77% for child passenger protection, 76% for pedestrian protection, and 78% for the operation of safety devices.

Toyota C-HR is available in Active, Style and Premium trim levels. The basic equipment includes:

The Toyota C-HR crossover has been mass-produced at TMMT (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey) in Sakarya since November 2016. The plant also manufactures the Toyota Corolla sedan and Toyota Verso compact van. UK sales of the model started in December 2016.
